Vintage Audio Repair

Welcome to old sound equipment specializing in high quality audio equipment. My name is Michael Reavis I am a Audio Engineer and a Certified Electronic Technician. I have over 34 years of experience. Factory trained back in the seventies by Marantz and Pioneer. I repair all makes and models of vintage audio amplifiers, preamplifiers, receivers, consumer and professional, solid state and tube. Some of my favorites are the Marantz 2500 and Marantz 2600 Marantz 2385 all Marantz 2200 and 2300, Sansui, Luxman all the big Pioneer with transistors outputs like the Pioneer SPEC-2, Hafler (the old ones), McIntosh, Harman Kardon I could go on forever I repair and do upgrades for tube amps such as the 300b and all other tube types. REPAIRS:
Units sent in for repair will be evaluated to determine what is required to return the unit to original factory specifications. An estimate will then be prepared to inform the owner of cost and time required to obtain parts and perform the repair. Estimates will be E-Mailed to the owner within one week of receipt of the unit. Units will carry a ninety day warranty that covers the parts replaced and the labor required to replace the parts. This warranty does not cover parts that were not replaced. The owner is responsible for shipping charges to and from my shop.

UPGRADES:
A unit sent in for upgrade will have all passive components in the signal path replaced, with the exception of transformers, tube or transistor sockets, etc. Carbon composition resistors, polypropylene or polystyrene capacitors where practical, will be used to replace the original components. If large value electrolytic capacitors are in the signal path, they will be replaced with high temperature, long life types, shunted with polypropylene capacitors. Active components will be replaced as required. The unit will meet or exceed the original factory specifications upon completion of the upgrade.
